The Finnish Shooting Sport Federation (SAL) is one of the oldest and most successful sports
federations in Finland. It was founded in 1919. The Federation comprises approximately 300
member clubs, with around 30,000 individuals participating in shooting sports.
As the current contract period draws to a close, we are now asking for applications for the
coaching position of Skeet Head Coach within the Federation:
The Head Coach’s duties include developing the sport’s coaching system; planning, implementing,
monitoring, and reporting on national team coaching; and managing national and international
competition activities. The coach also participates in coach education and professional
development for coaches. The coach is responsible for supporting, planning, monitoring, and
developing the daily training of the senior national skeet squads, working in collaboration with the
athletes and their personal coaches. The Head Coach plans and conducts national team training
camps. This is a part-time position.
We require candidates to possess excellent expertise in the specific discipline, sufficient coaching
qualifications commensurate with the level of the position, proven practical coaching skills, and the
ability to operate in international contexts using English. For Head Coach positions, an ISSF
coaching license (minimum Level B) is considered an asset.
Success in all these roles requires excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, adequate IT
proficiency, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to developing one’s own
coaching expertise.
These are fixed-term positions commencing on December 1, 2026. Contract is structured as either
2+2 or 1+1 years. The roles vary in scope and are either part-time or performed alongside other
