The Year of the ISSF Academy – 2025 in Review
The year 2025 marked a significant milestone for the ISSF Academy, reflecting steady growth, global reach, and a strong commitment to excellence in coach education. Throughout the year, the Academy continued to strengthen its role as a cornerstone of international shooting sport development through education.
Coach education remained at the heart of operations, with successful delivery of B and A Level Coach Courses and a full range pathway spanning from D Level to A Level programs. Participants from over 100 countries engaged in ISSF Academy courses, supported by tens of international instructors representing 16 nations. This global collaboration reinforced the Academy’s mission to deliver high-quality, consistent education worldwide.
Quantitatively, the results speak for themselves: nearly 1,400 new ISSF licenses were delivered across 2024–2025, demonstrating both demand and trust in the Academy’s programs. In total evaluations, the average of the anonymous participant feedback reached consistent level of 4.7 (scale 1-5). Qualitative feedback also remained high, confirming the effectiveness and relevance of the education provided.
The merit-based coach licensing system has its final round going on until end of March 2026. Designed to recognize proven coaching excellence, the system places strong emphasis on athlete success at Olympic Games and ISSF World Championships, while also valuing federation recommendations and professional coaching roles.
With new courses for athletes and other interest groups, expanded cooperation with federations, and further development projects planned for 2026, 2025 stands as a year of consolidation and forward momentum for the ISSF Academy—building a strong foundation for the future of coaching in shooting sport. The Academy vision – being the number one among all the Olympic sports – in one step closer.
Special thanks and warm Christmas greetings to all our supporters and friends!
