ISSF Academy meets ASC for joint development

The ISSF Academy team continues its push for development across the world with important visits in the Gulf region, including meeting with the Asian Shooting Confederation (ASC) in Kuwait.

Vesa Nissinen, ISSF Academy Director, and Karoliina Nissinen, ISSF Academy Head of Administration, visited the ASC headquarters – there meeting ASC President H.E. Sheikh Salman Al-Sabah and ASC Secretary General H.E. Duaij Al-Otaibi.

The talks focused on strengthening mutual cooperation between the parties and advancing the development of Olympic shooting sport through the ISSF Academy route, by holding coaching courses through a thorough pathway. They agreed to supporting athlete education, enhancing coaching programmes and working together on future joint initiatives.

Also during their visit, the team held cooperation and development talks with the Saudi Shooting Federation, led by CEO Abdullah Al-Dossary. Creating quality programmes to train coaches, referees and those interested in the shooting sport sector was at the forefront of discussions.

A visit to the United Arab Emirates also took place, with the ISSF Academy entering into a Memorandum of Understanding with Dubai Police, improving cooperation within the country.
