The ISSF Merit-based Coach License is available to successful coaches who do not yet hold an ISSF license or who hold a lower-level license.

Merit-based route to the coach A License demands proven achievements, support from the national federation and approval process of the ISSF Academy Board. The proven achievements include:

– Having obtained the Level B ISSF Coach License and having actively coached international level athletes for at least four consecutive years with the role of National Coach.
– Having achieved the qualification of an athlete to the Olympics with the role of National Coach\Team Coach for at least two editions of the Games.
– Having had an athlete qualify for an Olympic final with the role of National Coach\Team Coach.
– Having coached a Youth National team with the role of National Junior Coach\Junior Team Coach and having won a medal in a Junior World or Continental Championship.
– Having achieved at least three individual or Mixed Team medals in WCH or WCF or WC with the role of National Coach\Team Coach.
– Long-term work for the ISSF Academy or another shooting academy will be seen as an additional merit.

A coach seeking for the Merit-based Coach A License must provide an application with all the appropriate documents to the ISSF Academy, including a letter of recommendation from the National Federation. The ISSF Academy will give the instructions of this process also to the Federations. Deadline of these applications are annually the last day of October. The ISSF Academy Board will handle the applications in their end of the year meeting.
